Posted by: SAVE International
The health, safety and well-being of our community is our highest priority. SAVE International is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and will continue to provide updates as necessary. As of March 10, 2020, the SAVE International 2020 Value Summit is proceeding as scheduled on June 6-10, 2020 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has publicly deemed the health risk of COVID-19 for the general American public to be low at this time. However, to ensure the safety of attendees, SAVE International will incorporate guidance from the World Health Organization’s newly released Public Health for Mass Gatherings: Key Considerations report.
TRAVELING TO NEW ORLEANS
Attendees should not travel to the 2020 Value Summit if they are feeling unwell. Attendees should monitor the CDC travel guidelines prior to their departure. While Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is not one of the 20 airports being screened by the CDC, it has made several proactive enhancements to its facility and cleaning procedures.
SANITATION MEASURES & ON-SITE PREPAREDNESS PLAN
SAVE International will be requesting that the Value Summit hotel, the Royal Sonesta New Orleans, adhere to the following protocols:
- Clean all “high-touch” surfaces every day. High-touch surfaces include all door handles, doorknobs, push bars, counters, tabletops, benches, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards and tablets.
- Increase the number of hand sanitation sites available in the Royal Sonesta New Orleans, providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer for all attendees and staff.
- Use proper hand hygiene by either washing hands or using hand sanitizer before and after performing a cleaning task.
The SAVE International Value Summit staff is actively monitoring CDC and WHO updates for further information. SAVE International will provide updates as necessary leading up to the 2020 Value Summit.
Since COVID-19 changes on a daily basis and some institutions and companies have imposed a travel ban on their employees, we are extending our early bird registration rate to May 1, 2020.
