Value Methodology Associate (VMA) Certification
Share |

The SAVE International® Certification Board is pleased to announce the new entry-level certification to be offered – the Value Methodology Associate (VMA).

As of June 2016, the Associate Value Specialist (AVS) will no longer be offered as the entry-level certification. At this time, the VMA exam is the same as the previous AVS exam and any applicants’ exam received after June 4, 2016 will receive the new VMA certification if they pass.

Becoming Certified

VMA certification requires the following from each candidate:

  • Certification application
  • Payment of the appropriate application fee
  • Copy of their Module I certificate of completion
  • Completed certification exam

If the candidate fails one or both portions of the exam for VMA certification, then SAVE allows that person to retest up to two times within 12 months of the original exam date without penalty.

VMA certification does not require recertification; however, it does require an annual fee of $50 USD for SAVE members or $200 USD for non-members. In addition, there is a continuing education requirement of 8 hours bi-annually (beginning in June 2017).

The continuing education requirement represents the beginning of a new focus on continuous education for all SAVE International certifications.
