New SAVE Eastern Mediterranean & Africa Chapter

The SAVE International Board of Directors recently approved a petition to form the new Eastern Mediterranean & Africa (EMA) chapter.

The SAVE EMA chapter includes current society members located in the following Eastern Mediterranean and African countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Greece, Cyprus, Libya, Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Gabon, Namibia, Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania.

The objectives of the new SAVE EMA chapter are to:

  • Promote and accelerate the effectiveness and recognition of the practice of value engineering
  • Promote professionalism in the application of the value methodology
  • Introduce the value methodology to new countries
  • Promote education related to value methodology
  • Encourage research and original work in the application of the value methodology
  • Ease the certification and recertification registration and procedures
  • Provide additional services to SAVE members to increase the value of membership
  • Establish Local Member Communities (LMCs) for each country
  • Increase the number of SAVE members
  • Organize an annual conference to stay in touch with knowledge and applications related to value engineering

The new SAVE EMA chapter was founded by Jacqueline Fahmy, president of Value Engineering Consultants Group located in Cairo, Egypt. Ms. Fahmy is a SAVE member and also serves as the EMA chapter president. Her main passion is to introduce the VE methodology to different countries, and she believes people deserve to learn how to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
