- The Saudi government mandated VE applications on all government projects that are more that $5 million. Other Gulf countries will follow.
- All government contracts and lots of private sector contracts have included VE clauses.
- Four Arabic VE books have been written by Gulf CVSs
- The certified people in the Gulf has reached around 1000 (CVSs and AVSs) and growing.
- VE Training workshops (Module 1 & Module 2) are held at the rate of 40-50 per year.
- VE studies are conducted at the rate of 80-100 per year.
- Four regional VE conferences were held (2001, 2003, 2005 & 2008). And planning for the fifth one in year 2010.
