SAVE International®’s 2010 Annual Conference will take place on the Queen Mary, permanently docked in Long Beach, California.
The Queen Mary is 83,237 gross tons of Art Deco elegance that once carried the world’s rich and famous across oceans. In her heyday, the ship rivaled the Titanic and other luxury liners. In the 1940s, the Queen Mary carried military personnel, war wounded, and Winston Churchill. In 1967, ownership of the great ship was transferred from the British Registry to the City of Long Beach, where she was retired from seagoing service. After extensive renovations and loving attention to detail, the Queen Mary remains docked in the harbor as a showcase to a bygone era of elegance and luxury.
SAVE International® will occupy the Queen Mary for an incredible week of workshops, presentations, and networking in an environment rich in history and sensory appeal. Conference attendees will sleep in the hotel’s 314 original staterooms. Each cabin is uniquely appointed, and embellishments vary to include rich wood paneling; Art Deco built-ins; original artwork; and, portholes for outside cabins. The hotel offers a business center, and for those who wish to enjoy some fresh ocean air and exercise, four times around the Sun Deck equals one mile!
